no drips!

Sometimes it is the simplest things ....one of the highlights of today was having the drip in my shower recess fixed. Over the years the washers have been changed...but it never seems to last...the drips come back! This last week or so...they came back with extra quantity...nearly a bucket a day!! So.... today the plumber came...and replaced the whole system of pipes behind the wall. Haven't tried the shower yet...but there are NO drips. So so good. (Haven't had the bill yet...)

pick'n up rocks paves way for historic moment

Several months have passed since the last blog posting and thus this "historic moment" of test runs by experienced pilots and then a chance to have a go myself with one of the lads sitting beside and verbally guiding my movements. What a great birthday present; fancy landing on my parents "home strip".... it's a long time since I rode the red push bike (that my "big brother" put together for me one Christmas) up and down the air strip.....felt like I was flying then....this time I really was!

pick'n up rocks

Just about to go and pick up rocks from an agricultural airstrip so that a little Jabaru 160 ultralight aircraft can land with less bumps. It is a lovely afternoon...so if one is going to spend a couple of hours rock picking...then it could be quite pleasant....

....It was quite pleasant...and productive too. Should be a smoother landing and someone could also use the rocks for some crazy paving.

Revisiting what makes the Father's heart smile

During the week I heard a definition of resentful that I had not heard before: "to feel again". Sometimes something happens to trigger us to feel again and shows us that an earlier wound has not yet been healed.

I also revisited some notes I took while listening to a speaker share about her journey:

This lady could hardly believe it, she had visited 3 different churches on 3 successive Sundays. "Every time I sit in a church they talk about forgiveness" BUT this time the old man in the pulpit asked has anyone explained how to forgive when you can't?

He explained that apart from God we can do nothing...even forgive when we know we ought and it seems impossible and/ or unreasonable. He said "Let me explain how to forgive when you can't". The old parson explained that God's very nature is to forgive and we need to go to Him to ask us to help us to be willing to forgive so that our our "forgiveness tank" can be refilled and then this can flow onto those who need that forgiveness. He also explained that we need to release them to God into the freedom of forgiveness and (from) our judgment.

She prayed "Lord I am willing to be willing, Lord would you release your spirit of forgiveness in me so that I can release it out" She also spoke to the old minister..."When I came in this morning I made a terrible judgement on you and this whole church; but let me tell you I am so thankful to God for you have explained to me how I can do it; not just that I must do it...but HOW I can do it"

On reflection she then went on to say..."There is something about the heart of the Father that smiles on us when we actually chose to forgive those who have most done us harm"

Something lovely

Something lovely

I know this is picture is not grass but it is something lovely and reminded me of the following from 2 Samuel 23:

He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
And he shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises
A morning without clouds
Like the tender grass springing out of the earth
By clear shining after rain.

Sometimes you just have to pause and wonder.... in the midst of a dark world light bursts in and points to a hope for the future

Great Expectations

That was a memorable day to me, for it made great changes in me. But it is the same with any life. Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been. Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.
